Wow! It was kind of busy at work today. A couple of things could have gone better, like someone in the kitchen to actually take their break when told to, instead of waiting around for another 20 minutes, then going. Then another one only had two breaks, ad she should have been given the meal break first, instead of me needing to get that out in the middle of lunch.

It was "month end", whcih for us, means that two of the salaried managers have to do a physical inventory of everything in the store. They go in at 3am at our place, and stay until all the STAT reports ore finished. I have never had to do this, thank goodness, as I have the better gig of being an hourly paid manager. It has a lot of benefits, one being I am paid for each hour I work, instead of those guys staying today for 12 hours, and being paid for eight. I guess it all works out in the end, as they get comp days, and short days occasionally, but I like the way I work it. I got pretty darned busy while they were still there, and I told them I was dying. SHe asked if I needed help, to which I responded a very weak, and pitiful "yes". I hate needing help, in this situation, and nearly every situation in life. but even with their help, I ran under 12% labor that hour, so it was justified. The normal being 22%...

We also have lost an hourly manager recently. Just 22 years old, recently married, had worked for us pretty much since she was 16. Another job sort of fell into her lap, so she took it. I wish her all the best, yet it has left us short. And my dear friend Kay, has cut her hours down to just 18 per week, which also takes a manager away. Another store was to send us a soon-to-be-manager, but she informed us today that she is quitting, effective immediatly, and her first shirt was to be tomorrow! She is on the schedule all month long already. That is a lot of shifts to fill. I am only hoping it means better, more routine hours for me. We do need someone else however, and the sooner the better. Any takers?

Mike and I fixed leftover fajitas tonight. I just put the meat in a frying pan, and added the leftover rice to it. Heated up the tortilla and stuff in the microwave, and it was like a 4 minute meal darned near.

Looks as if Brittany and Caitlyn are coming over tomorrow night for dinner, I look forward to that.
