Alisha is out of town, with the YoungLife group. I had the choice of keeping Aurelia overnight last night, of picking her up early enough for Chris to get to work by 6am. I chose to pick her this morning, so that Mike would not wake her up in an unfamiliar environment as he was to leave. Good thing, as I had to wake Chris so he could get to work, even if he was late. I went to bed in their bed, and let the baby sleep as long as she wanted. When she did wake she was perfectly happy to entertain me without getting out of her crib. She refused, but just kept playing, and talking some sort of jibberish. I finally grew tired of standing there, so I picked out her outfit for the day, and thought enough to pick a spare, and pack the diaper bag. I went and got a bottle ready for her, and still, she just played in the crib. I should have showered at that point, silly me. Finally, she chose to get up, and I changed her poopy diaper, and got her dressed. She drank most of her bottle, and I offered her some breakfast type vittles. We then were off to meet up with Brittany, to go out shopping. On the way to get Britt, she was singing her "me" song, which consist of one word, over and over...something I have been singing to her since her birth, to the tune of "The Age of Aquarius" it is now, "The Age of Aurelia", 'cept she just sings the "Aurelia" part, again, and again. It makes me smile, so I go with it, and help her to sing. I then hear a weird gurgle type noise, and I looked at her in the rearview mirror. As I did, her mouth formed an "O", and there was a steady stream of vomit exploding from within. I do not know how, but she managed to contain it only to herself, and carseat. Not a drop on the Jeep itself. I pulled over, and made sure she wasn't choking, but really, I had nothing to clean it up wih at that point, so I picked Brittany up since we were within a block of her, and went to my place, and Britt cleaned the baby, while I got the task of scrubbing the seat. Taking the cover off, and washing, then replacing. We got Aurelia to take a nap, and Britt went to get lunch for us. Aurelia ate some lunch herself, pooped another load for me, as if I hadn't been through enough today, then we went across the street to the feild with the dog to play fetch. She found some flowers and picked them, and threw the ball, and had a good time. We picked some plums off our tree, and handed to her, and she threw them into the box. All of a sudden it was 3:30 and Chris was calling to say he was off work, and was heading over to pick her up. That was when Brittany and I were able to leave, as I didn't want any more puking. We took off for a few thrift stores, and Trader Joe's, then a trip to the grocery store. By the time I came home, it was nearly 8pm,a nd I had to make dinner. I made garlic/basil chicken with steamed red potatoes. |
