Mondays are one of the harder days at work. It is generally the slowest day of the week, and the day the regular opening manager has off. She is replaced with a salaried manager generally, who doesn't get good at it, and doesn't do everything on the list. I come in, and clean things up a bit, but it is hard. Today was no different. I also had to ask each and every person what breaks they have had, and which they still need...and no breaks during the lunch hour. Leaves me with a whole lot to do, and not much time to do it. He had sent one kid home, since that kid had called a few minutes prior to his shift starting, saying he needed to wash his uniform, then 3 1/2 hours later walking in. BY that time, we could survive his whole shift. If he doesn't want those hours, we can find someone else. The boss and I went to the grocery store on my last break, and picked up a few things for dinner. I showed her how to make my chicken fettacini, with the fresh pesto, and the stolen cream. We also had garlic bread, and green beans. I swear that is the only green veggie I eat, so I just eat a lot of them. |
