Grrrrrr....I know, I know....I have not posted any entry in a long time. Whatever, get over it. One day I will again post daily, and then you will be complaining for me to slow down. I have been transferred once more. Caitlyn was at this store, and hated every minute of it, and I saw the chance for me to take her place, and went for it. (well, that is my story for now, go with it) I am back at the Canyon Park location, which is cheery and bright! I was told to have a positive attitude about it, so that is as much as they will get from me. I am positive about one thing, but I cannot write it in the forum. Today was day number one at that store. I worked 11-7, and it went pretty darned fast. We are unable to use our cell phones without being written up and suspended, so that part went long. I am used to texting fast and furious. I will get used to pouring someones cup of coffee and cleaning the counter before serving it. I will get used to moving a cup half full of yucky cream off the DRIP TRAY to put fresh cream in a coffee cup, then replacing the dirty cup, cleaning the mess, then serving the coffee. I will get used to cleaning every drop of oil off the fryer before serving customers. I will get used to going to get a clean towel, cleaning the station prior to handing the guest their mocha...Surely I will? bah humbug...whatever... I was off at seven, and at 6:57, the espresso machine went into "energy conservation mode". Funny thingwas, I had just served a latte, and now I have NO IDEA IN THE WORLD how to get it to work. After a phone call to "The Boss", I rebooted it, and was able to make a drink. Just about then, Gustavo starts yelling from the drive-thru. The Automatic Beverage System (ABS) that makes all sodas, went haywire. The thing was spitting out carbonated water at a clip unknown to us. It WOULD NOT SHUT OFF! I quickly called "the boss" again, and she instructed me to call the computer help desk. "Okay" after 5-10 minutes of them trying a few things, they tell me to call COKE. Fine, whatever...I call Coke, and after another 10 minutes, we get it shut down (yeah, simply turning the machine off didn't help, nor did unplugging it). They have no beverages in the drive-thru all night (24 hour DT), until the service guy comes in tomorrow morning. Glad I am off... I love my job, I love my job, I love my job... So the store manager tells me to just come in half hour late tomorrow to cut that extra half hour off. I say I am off tomorrow. SHe says to come in half hour late my next shift. I say, "That is 12:00 noon on Wednesday, ya sure that is a good idea?"...."oh"....yeah, whatever...just pay me, I did the work...oops, did not say that, did I? Oh, I worked at this store previously, you can read some of my older postings about it for a good laugh or cry. The whole time I worked there, which was about 30 days or so, I was never given any keys. I would work shifts where I was the only manager for most of it, and could not even open a register to give someone the correct change, or to change a register to another crew member. Today, she was so happy, she gave me keys! Two keys! Two register keys! It seems there are 2 types of drawers, so you need two different keys. Mind you, I cannot access anything else in the store. Never felt like a manager before, and I probably won't this time, either...whatever, I still have more pay than any other hourly paid manager there, so that will be fine by me. I will not get Saturdays off any longer. "But I need you to work Saturdays"..I asked about one weekend off each month. SHe said, "but I need you on Saturdays, AND Sundays, we will see. I say, It is standard issue that every manager get one weekend off each month. STANDARD...yeah whatever...I am bending over and taking for now... |
