2005-07-21 7:19 PM Shiny! Thu Jul 21 - New trailer! New trailer! http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/serenity/
Now many of you know that (a) I almost never get around to seeing movies and (b) I'm not usually a movie junkie in any way. But with Serenity, I take exception to the rule and I'm counting down the days until the Sep 30 release date. Hmm. I might even have to take part of the day off work to go to the first showing possible. There's even a movie theatre just down the street from my office, so I'll start by checking with them. I digress. This is unusually silly for me since I still haven't seen the 3rd Lord of the Rings movie or the last two Star Wars movies. And I would actually LOVE to see them, I just haven't gotten around to it. In fact, sitting around chatting with friends, we were able to determine that I can still *count* the number of movies I've seen in my *life* ... and that's probably a 2-digit number. We joke that 90% of the time I haven't seen a movie someone names, and 70% of those I haven't even heard of. Part of me thinks that (1) I just don't have time to go to the movies, (2) I don't have the budget to go out or rent them much, (3) and I just prefer 30-60 min shows on TV. Now, I get a lot of use out of my TiVo, and I record probably more TV than I really should. And certain TV shows I would watch over and over again—you know, watching all six seasons, every episode in order. *That's* a good movie. But I seem to prefer books in series over one-volume books, too. The exception would be short story collections, but short stories remind me of single TV episodes phenomena. But Joss Whedon. Mmmmm. He writes good stuff! As they say in Firefly/Serenity: "Shiny." Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
