2005-09-04 11:59 PM Lazy Enjoyable Sun Sep 4 - So for this overnight event, I simply booked a hotel room online Friday night. I'm very glad that I did, because all the hotels in the area were sold out, which the front desk told me when I arrived around 9 pm.
I spent some time just relaxing at the Denny's next door, and hand-wrote out several copies of my composition from the competition yesterday. It probably isn't a stretch to say that I blew away several friends with my composition, and they were really thrilled at the song. Since I knew they might like to have copies, I've taken the time to write it out neatly so they can all have one. I also spent some time on the site today memorizing the lyrics to my song, so that I can perform it for my friends on request. I've even been singing my competition songs over and over, in my head, in the car, as I walk along on site, just to keep pounding the lyrics into my memory. I now have this little four-song repetoire memorized, and I just want to keep expanding it. It was a lazy-day-in-the-park kind of day, which was a nice change from events where I'm running around over-volunteering for things. Then once it got late I just packed up, changed clothes, and headed to town. I took one nap along the way, and then got to Dayle & Ken's around midnight or 1 am or so. It turns out that they were home after all (oops!) so as I was just crashing on their couch, I heard a voice from upstairs calling down, "Cat? Is that you?" Laughing I had to say "Yup, hi! Sorry to wake you, didn't expect you home!" and then fall asleep. Good thing we're such good friends! *laughs* Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
