Sick with a cold

Sun Sep 24 - I was absolutely exhausted when I got home last night that even though it was only about nine pm, I went straight to sleep. It dawned on me this afternoon that I forgot to get out some of my textile tools for Mel to take back to the Fiber Part 2 class, but I'm sure that Astridr had enough on hand.

I was supposed to be able to go to Disneyland with Petula and the whole family to celebrate my niece's 2nd birthday. But as early as 5 this morning, my throat was quite swollen and my body ached all over, and I think I've picked up someone's cold. Several people at the Birthday dinner on Thursday mentioned having a cold recently, so I wonder if I picked up something there.

I left her a message on her cell phone in the morning, and I hope they all had fun there. I spent the entire day tossing and turning in bed, alternating between being too cold and too hot, and completely tired.

I tried showering and dressing around noon, to maybe go get some laundry done, but no chance. I went right back to sleep. The most difficult thing now is that both the other directors of choir are out of town, and so I see no other choice but to get on the freeway and head up to choir practice. I just hope that taking some more medication and sucking on cough drops to soothe my throat will make me able to conduct rehearsal. I'm also not sure how many new people will be here, since I wasn't there last week, but they've been emailing folks who signed up at the festival a few weeks ago.

So it's time to put on my tennies, grab some late lunch, and try to be a choir conductor. Hopefully Tina will be free for dinner—we were text messaging late last night about the CDs she went out to buy. I played a few songs of Poe for her after the birthday dinner, and she was just as impressed as I was, and *had* to have those CDs right away. We mentioned that maybe I could see her after choir tonight, and so I'll see if that will still fit in her schedule.
