A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

Extrovert and House nights / Project nights

Tue Nov 15 - I didn't break for lunch yesterday until 3:30, so I counted that as dinner. I'm beginning to wonder if that might be a good idea... have an early dinner so that I'm not looking for drive-through food on my way home. Also, if I stay a little bit late at the office, I miss most of the drive-time rush in the evening. Of course, I still have to sit in traffic if I want to do anything with anyone else, but if it's just my alone-plans, it works out fine.

That's a strange balance I have to strike in my life, all the time. I'm definitely an extrovert. I get jazzed and re-charged from being around other people. But at the same time, I have no problem just plowing through my projects and getting things done. So I'm torn when there's no one around with free time to hang and do stuff, and I'm left alone to work on things I love to do, but I'm left *alone* to do them. It's clearly a major reason why I drive so much—because I'll drive to be with people.

It's also why I call being single "bored bored bored."

I worked late in the office on work things, plus on updating my excessively detailed master list of my projects and plans. Next I get to start prioritizing the list, and scheduling specific nights of the week/month to work on projects. I mentioned that Aliskye and I plan to set assign 2 Wednesdays per month to work together on projects. Plus we have the "lock-in" project weekend at Dayle's coming up, Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm planning on alternating between "House nights" and "Project nights" so that I can equally pay attention to things like organizing and cleaning, alternating with creating and being artistic. I only have Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays open to be at home, but if I get to work early enough and can deal with sitting in traffic, I can get home for a few hours before band on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So I might be able to squeeze another 1-2 hours of either a House night or Project night in even before band. Or I might just make those hours "relax and recharge" hours, reading, watching an hour of tv (maybe finally watch the 18 tapes of the Olympics I recorded last summer), and just relax.

And a major THANK YOU! to Darren for sharing the link to Pandora.

Recently Listened to: Pandora my "Folk Chick" music station with artists like Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, Poe, Natalie Imbuglia, and a band that's new to me (out of the Netherlands) called "The Gathering." It's a little like having a personal DJ and I just keep giving the thumbs-up/thumbs-down while Pandora tries out new music for me.

Today's Weather: Foggy morning (yippee!!) around 50's, but up to mid-80's and Santa Ana winds in the afternoon (blech). And how can it still be 75 at 7:30 when it's dark out??

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: Darren & Janice, for being able to watch their adoption process (I've got my fingers crossed for you!), and for the open friendship they've extended to me over the last several years.
