2006-02-27 9:00 PM Busy but happy Thu Feb 23 - Rehearsal went well this evening, and I even got home at a decent hour. The only problem this week has been I just haven't had any time to clean the kitchen or get any cooking done. It worries me a little that my eating is getting thrown off this week, but what is just is.
Fri Feb 24 - I've finally gotten the last of my CDs loaded into my iPod, and I'm just so darn happy. My giant tote-bag of CDs is just under 7 gig of music, leaving me tons and tons of space for more CDs later. And this evening was another gaming session at the Dudley's, which I always enjoy so very much. I was able to return the cooler, pick up my carpet & pavilion poles, and just generally enjoy the company of my friends. Sat Feb 25 - This morning I finally finished the last of my war laundry. Normally I go through only 2-washer-loads in a week, but post-camping it takes 7 washers to clean all my garb, my work clothes, and all my sheets & blankets. I cannot tell you how nice it would be to have a staff of minions to take care of everything for me. *giggle* Then, once everything was just thrown in the house, it was time to race off again because our band performed at a club this evening. Just getting dressed for the event was encouraging since I've lost just more than 15 lbs now, and some of my fancy band clothes are fitting better now. I'm really encouraged again. The show itself was AMAZING. I wasn't very optimistic about the other band, since they are more "metal" than I normally listen to, but I immediately bought a copy of the CD for myself, and it's going on my iPod next. The guys in the band, Prymary, were also very personable, and I really enjoying spending the evening with them. Sun Feb 26 - After an evening as a rock star (giggle), today I got to spend the day at a lazy SCA event, just hanging out in a park and enjoying the company of my friends. I spent some extra time pinning up one of my new hairpieces, so once I was done it looked like I have curly auburn hair that goes to the middle of my back. It looked fantastic (and I'll have to see if any of my friends got photos). The only downside: Mariam tells me it's impossible to recognize me from behind when I'm wearing long hair. (giggle) In the morning, I was part of the judging staff for the bardic competition, which was a first for me. After spending a year working at entering competitions, it was really interesting to be on the other side of the judging this time. Later in the day, I sang Lady Kaarna's bawdy song for the Baron, which went over fabulously. And I met someone who actually knew Kaarna way back when, who complimented me on truly keeping the song in the spirit of Kaarna. I'm always pleased to find out I'm doing her proud, even though I never met her before she died. The rest of the day was spent just working on my kumihimo (a Japanese braiding technique), and teaching my tricks to a new friend in the barony. Mariam spent some time playing with my favorite spindle, and we all did nothing but sit and enjoy the day. There should be more days like this. Afterwards, Bjo and John and I went over to Mariam's place to hang out with her and Mordecai and order-in Indian food for dinner. Again, more laziness and good friends and enjoyment. Then around 8 pm I drove up to pick up my mail and then head home. I considered spending the night at Dayle & Ken's, but I didn't have my contacts case on me, so I just did the extra driving and enjoyed coffee to stay awake. Mon Feb 27 - This morning I finally got all the clean clothes and clean linens picked up off my bedroom floor, and the whole place vaccuumed. Then I just sneezed all day from the dust and grass bits from Arizona. Ah well, I'm finally breathing better at the end of the day. I also finally got the theatre website all updated, just to find out I missed two shows that closed this past weekend. Of course, I can't think of any free time during which I could have seen the shows, but I hate to miss a show. Speaking of shows, I won't be able to see Prymary's next show in May at the Galaxy in Santa Ana (with Spock's Beard) because that's the same day as my Shire's Anniversary tourney. I can't imagine having the energy to do the drive and THEN stay awake for both bands. I'm bummed! *pout!* * * * * * Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: Podcasts. Techonology rocks! * * * * * Weight Loss This Week: Tue 2/21 - 13.2 lbs total so far Wed 2/22 - 14.4 lbs Thu 2/23 - 13.2 lbs Fri 2/24 - 13.6 lbs Sat 2/25 - 13.8 lbs Sun 2/26 - 15.6 lbs Mon 2/27 - 13.2 lbs - Not a bad pattern for the week, hitting 15.6 at my best, and still staying within a 1-2 lb range most days. It'll be interesting to see if today's numbers were an aberration or not. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
