Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Review

Okay, so I'm starting this story with a giggle so you know that I'm in great spirits.

Technically, I "lost my job" today but it's really very silly and I'm totally fine with it, and it feels more like a lay-off, even though you might think it looks like being fired. But I've been miserable for the past month, and had even been looking for jobs already because I was so unhappy with a few things.

And I was actually bored out of my skull all week, because they had nothing for me to do... mostly because they were planning to let me go, so they really had nothing for me to do.

Now that other good news is that they gave me a very generous severance package, they were very sweet about everything, and it totally wasn't personal or even whether I'm a hard-worker but it was really about deliverables and communication... and we all know that's a two-way street.

So here's the last funny part: I fly out next Wednesday for an event in Wisconsin that's abbreviated "WW" ... which makes this the third time I've gone to a 4-day(+) camping SCA event with the letters "WW" in its name, being unemployed suddenly for the trip. (There were two GWW events when I had just gotten laid-off from a job). I find this hysterically funny, I'm totally looking forward to a completely stress-free and silly camping event, and I'll (once again) come home from the event, job-hunt full-time, and find something awesome and amazing (that will probably even pay more than this last job)...since one of my life patterns is that every job has paid more than the job before. *giggle*

All is well. I'm going camping July 5-9. Then I come back and find a new job. *whee*
