A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

Happy Flip the Calendar Day

Fri Nov 3: Happy Flip the Calendar Day - It's no surprise that I find silly joy in administrative tasks done well or done with some regularity. I can even enjoy wrapping a computer cord neatly, because I know when I unpack my computer bag, everything is neat and orderly.

I also am not obsessed with this. I can walk away from a task partially done, a little cluttered, not folded neatly, etc. I hate to miss out on delivering on a promise, but I'm not bound to routine out of any sense of OCD. I agonize over the commitments I've made, to try and meet them all, and cringe when I miss a deadline or a commitment.

I also just love the simple task of flipping a calendar page, and consider there to be 12 extra small holidays per year, just for me called "Flip the Calendar Page" day. Some months I "celebrate early" by flipping the page a day or two early. Other months I celebrate a little late. Currently in my home, I'm half-celebrating. I've flipped the calendars in the Kitchen on the 1st. And my room still has 3 calendars open to the wrong (old/passed) month. *sigh*

On a different administrative note: My hosting company for my photo website =again= had some sort of server corruption. The email from the tech support claimed they just had to restore files from backup. Sadly, although my site thought there were photo files, all the photos had "no data" and disappeared on screen.

So I've been spending the last day (and a half, or so) re-uploading photos back into albums. I've lost all my captioning on each photo, any corrections to time/date stamps on the photo, and any thumbnail centering/cropping. So now I need to figure out how to make a complete backup of the entire site, not just the photo files. Re-loading the files takes a while, but re-captioning is darn near impossible. *heaviest sigh of the evening* But, all but a few dozen photos are back, and then I'll figure out how to do the complete site backups.

I had a lovely time at the shire meeting last night, and then crashed at Dayle's for the night. We got to stay up late chatting and then enjoy a leisurely lunch today. I had the pleasure of being able to "do work from home" over her wireless connection, plus do my laundry. Sadly the 90-minute drive home took just over 3-hours, but I still got home safely.

Then I had a really nice Friday (Sabbath) dinner with Jeff and Adrienne, and we spent hours hashing over some venting, brainstorming, and ideas on how to make our world a better place, through inspiration, teaching, and hard work. And not getting burnt out.

Tomorrow is another baronial anniversary tournament, and my roomie and I carpool around 6 AM. So I really ought to go to sleep. G'night dears.

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: New friends in Northshield, and the fun I had re-connecting with old ones. PJ, I missed you more than I realized. Mark and Aryn, you put a smile on my face. I'm still smiling. Kim, you're really a wonderful friend. Andrew, I hope it was everything you dreamed of, and more. Jeff, we missed you being with us. Sue and Ed, thanks for being wonderful. There are more, but I'll pause here tonight. More later.
