A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

Multi-Tasking in Rotation

Multi-Tasking in Rotation - I had one more restless night, not feeling healthy, until around 4 am when it dawned on me "go get the first aid kit and take something for this!" So I wandered out to my car and took some cold meds with pain meds (you know, those combo headache, stuffy nose kind of medicines). When I'm sick, I always seem to forget that sometimes there are medicines that could make me feel better. The walk to the car actually felt nice, because it was much cooler outside than in my apartment. I briefly considered just snoozing in my car with the windows down, but common sense won out and I wandered back inside.

After a shower at 6 am, and one more dose of headache pain relievers, I finally woke up at 11 am, feeling just fine. You know that bouncy "I'm not sick anymore!" kind of energy? Of course, I always =want= to show some moderation, but I almost always still get way too task-oriented on that first day, feeling better. Today was no exception. *blush*

I did my work from home today, and in between tasks, I picked up around the house. It was a "multi-tasking in rotation" kind of day. I couldn't do just one thing for any length of time. But in rotation, I got the coffee bar all put away, the dishes all washed, the floor in the kitchen scrubbed...

Okay, this one was the silly one. I know. But there were bizarre scuff marks that we hadn't gotten around to dealing with, and I was feeling guilty that they were probably from some old shoes of mine (that I've since tossed out), so I figured I needed to get the scuffs off the floor. And they were definitely stuck to the floor, so they really needed to be hand-scrubbed. Our kitchen floor has a grid-like design, so I would just pick a section and clean a bit, then switch to some other tasks like dishes, or computer work, or hanging up laundry, or stitching a sleeve cuff on Scott's Crown tunic.

I was *all* over the map today. But the house looks much better now, everything's in from my car, and my room is livable again.

Last night's A&S (Arts and Sciences) was the inaugural meeting, hosted at Meala's place. She stepped down from being the Marshal for Rapier Fence, and stepped up as the Minister of A&S. (Gee, I don't know anyone *else* like that! *giggle*) Aliskye presented her part one of four on designing a scroll. According to Aliskye, her dream is to see our barony turn into a "hotbed of scribal activity." We had *so* much fun with that phrase, "scribal hotbed," and since Lot was the only guy with 7 ladies, the jokes got even sillier after that. We came up with several great scroll designs, and it was a wonderful evening.

This evening I went over to Rae's house (that's Tonwen, by the way, the one who's taking me into apprenticeship later in November), to work on my painted fabric project. I sorted out the spacing for the main dress, and got four more stars painted. Her roomie, Renata (that's Medb), was working out a knitting pattern for some kilt socks for a friend. Rae was working on some hose for costuming (think socks made from cloth), but cut them too small for herself (forgetting to leave the seam-allowance). Apparently my feet are smaller by just the right amount, and so it looks like she's going to finish them for me. Yippee! Hose! Cool!

So, between working on projects at home on my own, with my household, with Scott, and now with Rae and Renata, I'm definitely getting more things done!

Tomorrow I get to have lunch with a former co-worker, and then head to fighter practice in the evening. I'll probably bring the last of the hand-work on Scott's fighter tunic for Crown, and make sure that's done by dinner on Thursday.
