A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

If it's written down, I know it (If it's not written down, I don't know it)
If it's color-coded, I understand it (If it's not color-coded, I don't understand it)

Getting Ready to Leave

Getting Ready to Leave - I'd last left the narrative of our intrepid heroine with the closing, "But this journal entry is written fully enough that I can go wash some dishes, pack Coffee Bar into boxes, and probably put away my clean laundry." Hmm. Really? *sigh* Okay, so the dishes haven't been done yet, Coffee bar isn't packed yet, and the clean laundry, erm, well, I put away the socks and undies and bras. So I did the easy pile.

What in the world have I been doing since then? Let's see. I don't remember why I didn't get to work after my journal entry, but seeing has how it was posted around 11:30 pm, I think I just went to sleep exhausted.

This morning, I wanted to get up early, but just couldn't drag myself out of bed until about 7 am. What happened to surviving on 6 hours sleep? Hmm, I may have to look into that. But anyways, I got up, showered, dressed, and started to look around at everything that needed to be done before going out to the Great Western War site. But I came to the conclusion that updating the GWW website with the last pending items was WAY more important than being on hand today for marking out the land. Anyone can mark the site, only I could finish my pending emails and website updates. And being disappointed in myself for being madly behind on the final updates wasn't going to fix anything, so I decided it didn't matter how long it took, I was finishing the whole thing.

It's after 6:30 pm, and I'm done. Well, I suppose that it was a good decision, although I'm not proud of being behind, being late, being overdue, or being at home when I wanted to be onsite. So, no congratulations to me, I don't deserve them.

Anyways. That's done. One good thing though, a strange sliver of something good. At one point, the interface for file uploading went down. The site was fine, I just didn't have a way to upload changes. I called the site autocrat who was already out there on site, yesterday. She had the phone number of the guy who could fix the problem. And while she was headed to get the phone number, she mentioned that somehow my google maps link was sending people to the "front gate" not the "west gate" ... was there any chance I could fix it? Turned out it was SUPER easy to fix, so "I've got that going for me." Then when I spoke to the guy who could fix things, he called back to ask if the ftp interface was working. How did I not know about the ftp access? *headdesk* I LOVE ftp interfaces, and I *hated* the control panel interface (although it's super important for some tasks). Fortunately the ftp WAS working fine, and so I was able to finish every outstanding and pending email, task item, and file in my list. *whew* Posted links to the lists so people could pass the word, and now it's off to find dinner.

Other Finished Items - One final miscellaneous task that had been neglected at home for a LONG time was to watch some shows on my tivo and record them to tape to loan to other people. (Yes, I still dump tivo recordings to video tape. VCR. I know. Hey, I don't *have* a DVD-recorder.) Anyways, I finally finished watching all the rest of the Olympics and putting those tapes aside.

I finally recorded an archeologist's search for the source of the blue dye mentioned in the bible for the blue thread in the fringe on ritual Jewish prayer shawls (that would be the "hilazon" for the animal and the "tekhelet" for the blue threads in the "tzitzit" which are the fringes on the "tallit" which is the prayer shawl). There have been different claims for the source of the dye, and as a combination of history, textile arts, dying, and religion, I found the show facinating. A couple people missed the show and were hoping to get copies from me. That was a year ago. I finished taping the show for them today. *shakes head at self*

And I finally made a copy of the episode of "Untold Stories of the ER" in which a friend of mine appeared. I wanted to be sure he had a copy for his library at home.

Now, off to get some dinner, come home, wash dishes, put away clean laundry, and pack for GWW. I'll leave early in the morning.

Finished Objects: Partial laundry done. All of one website caught up. 3 tv recording projects done.

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: Making priorities and following through.
