A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

If it's written down, I know it (If it's not written down, I don't know it)
If it's color-coded, I understand it (If it's not color-coded, I don't understand it)

Some Recent Developments

Howdy folks! I've missed writing bits and observations on a regular basis, and so since I thought of you, I figured I should write before I forgot again.

Some Recent Developments - A new pattern has emerged from my efforts to chase my passion in dance. Two weeks ago, I noted in my fitocracy log: "I'm always looking for ways to improve my dance regimen, from the first time I took a 2nd class per week. My current schedule: Weekly (Mon 2.5hrs, Tue 1 hr, Thu 1.5hrs, Fri 1.5hrs), 9 summer Sat classes [2 hrs ea], Sundays 1x/month [four 30-min classes]. Tonight, I'm increasing Fri class from 90min to two 90min classes, my first weekly 3-hour dance block."

Three hours of dancing in one evening, all in a row, two classes back-to-back. Wow. I never would have guessed that I would end up here, had you asked me two years ago.

Week before last, that first 3-hour-block, also had an added element: The A/C in the city college dance rehearsal room was not working, and it had been hot all week. It was 90+ degrees when we walked in at 6:30 PM. Three hours later, I could not believe I'd lasted, dancing in that sauna. The following day, I went to my advanced two hour "summer camp" class and really felt the pain of having danced for three hours.

However, dancing in a hot classroom is MUCH better than dancing in a meat locker, though I never would have known that either. Last week, we walked in to our previous-sauna and the classroom was 57 degrees. It was about 80 degrees outside, but 57F in the room. Three hours later, it had risen to about 61F inside, only dropped to 77F outside. It is *painful* to dance in a cold room for hours.

Summer camp involved two hours of dancing Saturday, followed by sharing a semi-private lesson with one of the other advanced dancers; then Sunday another semi-private with one of the newer dancers, and a two-hour dance practice/party with my friends across town.

On my way to lunch today it really dawned on me: I just danced for three hours on each Fri, Sat, and Sun. Three hours per day. And I have two classes tonight, Intermediate followed by Advanced, two and a half hours of dance class tonight.

I never would have guessed that some day I could say I dance between 2-3 hours per day.

Per. Day.

Wow.

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: Jen: You are the perfect nutter of a dance instructor, for a nutter of a student like me. I am unbelievably thankful for you.
