I'm assuming I'll laugh about this a year or so from now. But anyway, to make a long story short, the editor in NY lost my manuscript. The one she's had since June.

Lost. Gone. Somewhere in the ether between the H/S offices and all the freelance readers in New York City.

She knows it got there. She swears she read bits of it before passing it on. (Though I'm not thinking about what that means.) She even tore her office apart thinking it was right...over...there.

Nope. Nada. Nothing. Gone.

The silver lining in this gloomy cloud, however, is that I asked her if I could resend the synopsis to her via email. Not only did she say yes, but she also said I could send her ANY ideas via email, as long as they were attachments and accompanied by a query letter so she could register it into her system.

So. It could be worse, I imagine.

Had a good meet w/Jenn, though neither of us was at our chipper best. She wasn't looking forward to martial arts, and I was nervous about the aforementioned phone call w/editor, which was going to take some time and had been scheduled for 2pm.

Oh well. At least I've gotten medication, and hopefully it will kick this nasty infection in the ass. I'm tired of being unhealthy.
