Exercise Done... Yoga, 20 mins

Okay. Maybe it's the yoga. Maybe it's pure irritation, or irritation mixed with panic. Whatever, I started a new novel today. Yeah, I know, that makes three so far this year...or is it four? But this one I think has promise. It's snappier, if that makes any sense. More in tune with what I wanted, was aiming, to write, so that's a huge sigh of relief.

I'm finding with this one I'll have to actually do research - watch films, TV, and do some background writing, stuff I usually don't bother with - but there are a ton of characters early on in the story that only appear intermittently later, so I have to have them fully fleshed out. Even if it's just in a cartoonish way. (Well, it made sense to me, so there.)

The best part is that I'm excited again about writing, which has just been too long. I have decided that ideas are a dime a dozen, so I shouldn't be afraid I won't have any. It's the execution that makes or breaks a novelist. My intention is to execute it brilliantly.

Of course, I don't think anyone really tries to be mediocre. Though I could be wrong...
