Christine's New Chapter Never look down... DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing. |

2004-04-21 5:50 PM Too many pages to turn back. Pages Written... Tuesday, 13 today so far, 5
Listening to... Nightnoise Exercise Done... Yeah. Right. I've done thirty two pages of the novel so far. So it's far too late to turn back, to delete, to go on to something different. Besides, this is what I pitched and this is what I must deliver. Otherwise, how can I be trusted to deliver the next time? Not that I've sold the novel, no no no. But there's always the relationship with the editor to consider. They have exquisitely long memories. As my dh says, no need to irritate the pig. (Nothing personal intended, mind.) Something Donald Maass said in his workshop - readers can tell when a book is written without passion. Perhaps in the past I haven't been passionate enough about the work - and with this book, the intensity, the passion is there, and maybe that's why it's already, even in its pupa state, so much better? Whatever, just thinking about the characters and their reactions to each other and the trouble they're all going to get into, well that spurs me on even when I'm not sure what happens next. This book, for some reason, is resisting being outlined - or perhaps I'm feeling so under fire to get at least ten pages a day done, that I'm not allowing myself the time to outline. Hm. Another thought to chew on. Okay, break time over. I've got five more pages to do today, and the 'day' is almost gone. Good thing I'm not making dinner tonight. ;-) Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
