Listening to... Dogs whining. Yes, it's really annoying.
Exercise Done... Kick Boxing. Well, I will. Just give me a few more minutes, then I'll be out there.

I am REALLY close to being done with chapter three! And when I add the 9 pages I wrote new today to the ones I re-wrote and fidgeted with, I'm sure I did my ten page quota at least, so that's nice. First time all week!

The friend who keeps finalling in contests actually came over for a cup of coffee this morning. As we talked, I mentioned that I was completely unsure about contests, and she said that I was able to get in front of editors and sell myself as well as my story. She hasn't taken advantage of those opportunities, so contests were the way to go for her.

And when I thought about it, I realized she's right. I'm three for three on editor interviews (requests anyway), and that's not a bad road to be on! I'm doing something right, and it's not just wearing my 'goddess' lipstick every time.

So I'm feeling better about that part. And the writing today ended up being funny, so that's good, too. I'm a bit tired of tortured, self-sacrificial heroes and heroines - it'll be interesting to see if I can do something a bit different with characters that, in other hands, would be tortured and self-sacrificial.

We'll see.
