Pages Written... 2 - article pages

Had a nice time down in San Diego with the folks. Mom looked good, Dad looked better than he has - he had a twinkle that was good to see.

On the way home, I wrote an article for my local RWA chapter's newsletter. It wasn't very good, but it got the job done. Having nothing better to do, I read it to hubby and we got into a discussion about what else I could write about within the context of the subject (big romance writers conventions vs small romance writers conventions). Then I napped.

Got home and found out that the Editor/Agent appointments were made available today for the RWA Conference this summer in Dallas, instead of tomorrow; so I hopped online and signed up for one of each. The editor is the one I met with first in Denver. I've got something to pitch to her, I was going to pitch it via email but this way I'll get to see her and talk and it'll be good I think. Better than on the phone. It'll be more like talking to a friend.

The agent is just someone who has turned down acquaintances of mine, don't know if she's big, good, or any of that - but her name is familiar so we'll see.

I'll get final confirmations on July first, but it looks good. And there were a ton of open spots. Did I get lucky? Maybe...maybe not. We'll see how many of my friends get spots.

Anyway, by the time the first wave confirmations came through, I was flying high - and completely rewrote the article, using maybe ten percent of what I had originally written. I got it sent off, too, which is good - my newsletter editor wants to get it printed tomorrow.

So...all is well. The weekend from hell is over. I can breathe again, and tomorrow, maybe I'll even be able to write!
