Exercise Done... 2 mile run/walk

Having major misgivings on current novel. Decided I needed to layer the novel - add in more character to the town, what divides the people, what unites them, then moving in and adding layers to my 3 main characters. I ended up adding a character, too - and managed to add 4 pages total in the first five chapters, which now sets up chapter six really well. (Or, rather, it will as soon as I add just another paragraph...or maybe two...to chapter five.)

I did a lot of my "layers" thinking while sitting in a Spa Pedicure chair - one of those expensive pedicure massage chairs meant for nail salons. I treated myself to a pedicure today - finally was able to relax. That, I think, was the best thing I've done for myself in months. Am almost ready to write like a fiend.

Eldest son gave his poetry reading/report today, and when I picked him up from school he was so happy it glowed from his entire body. Such a weight off his shoulders! So the household overall has a lighter heart today.

And in other news - I'm playing the piano again. I'm working through a beginner's workbook - how embarrassing to realize I'd forgotten how to read music - but after all, it's been thirty years since I took lessons. My brain didn't remember too well, but my hands loved it!
