Christine's New Chapter Never look down... DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing. |

2004-05-13 9:30 PM ...and then the car died. Pages Written... 6
So for the past couple of days I've been crossing my fingers whenever I've driven anywhere. Yesterday, when I picked up my eldest son, the car almost refused to start which would really have sucked. Today after the mail came, hubby received a couple of checks so off I went to deposit them before hitting up Costco. The car sputtered to life after the bank, so I made it to Costco safely and thought it would do well with a long rest in the parking lot, be perky when I'm ready to leave. So not. Not a wheeze or a flicker of a turn of the engine. A neighbor came up to rescue me by giving me a jump, but alas - the battery didn't want a jump, thank you very much. Kind soul that he is, he took my purchases back to my house and stuck perishables in the fridge while I called Triple A. Half an hour later, a nice middle-aged man came to my rescue, trying valiently to get my van going - but no luck. He hooked it to his tow truck, I climbed in, and off we went to take the hulk home. I ventured a mild,"so, probably not the battery, huh?" He came back with, "Probably the starter." Damn. $400 instead of $50, and that's only if it manages to pass a smog inspection... I think it's time to seriously consider buying an old used car from a dealer. If they have any that are reasonable, that is. We'll see. ****************************************************** In the meantime, Derek Fisher is my hero - his shot with 0.4 seconds to go in the game tonight put my Lakers up, 3 games to 2 over San Antonio. My becoming a Kings fan has been delayed, yet again, thank all the gods! ****************************************************** Tomorrow, I won't have a car. Tomorrow I'll write a lot. Promise. Because so far, my week is not good - 16 pages over 4 days. *hangs head in shame* And I'll exercise, too. More than merely restraint. I promise myself.
