Listening to... Pink Martini

Donated platelets this morning. Turned into a bigger deal than it had in the past - as I was watching "Princess Diaries", I kept feeling my left bicep spasming but didn't want to make a fuss...I won't let that happen again!

My left bicep area is now swollen almost three times bigger than the right one. The returning blood *mostly* went into my vein - but there was a leak, so some of it went into my soft tissues. It hurts like a sonofabitch, not to mention the me getting woozy part...I now know what it's like to be dizzy from blood loss. (Important if I ever do write that vampire novel.) Typing is a bitch, too, so not sure how much writing I'll get done.

The arm will turn tons of colors - basically it's an internal hemorrage. Ni-ice. Oh, and it may take up to two weeks before it stops hurting. I'm supposed to keep it on ice today and take tylenol - they don't want the blood to go anywhere else. Tomorrow afternoon I can switch to advil and do heat and cold.

'Scuse me...think I'd better lay down before I pass out...
