Went to the beach this afternoon, stayed until after six. It was glorious. The marine layer came in while we were there starting about four, and the sun came and went as the clouds scattered about.

Finally the clouds hit the mountain range behind us (we were at Rincon), wispy things wreathing the peaks. We still had more sunlight, and the clouds hung over the mountains - it was surreal, beautiful, made me believe in fairies all over again.

And I started another book. Sigh. It isn't exactly chick lit, but it's in the same voice as my Lily novel (which is in desperate need of rewriting). Since I think the Lily novel is the first novel really in MY voice, I'm pleased another one has shown up. I think I'll try my hand at writing it while writing the other one. The category will be duty, and the new novel will be guilty pleasure. We'll see which one wins out.

Time now to shower (get the sand out of my suit) and feed the troops.
