My day was wonderful (and actually started yesterday, with birthday goodness from Jenn!). Phone calls from friends far away, emails with birthday wishes, cards from Dayle and Barbara. Lunch, champagne, and waaay too many kung-pao scallops with a dear friend.

Rain! I love the rain, so another bit of goodness for my day. More emails, some talking online, some gaming, and a surprise visit by Bob T., another dear friend, on his way to San Diego. One of the highlights, though, was hearing him sing Shenandoah to me. He's got the most lovely tenor voice, even if he is out of shape. Made me cry, being serenaded that way in my own house. So I made him dinner, served him a glass of birthday champagne (yes, more champagne!) and cake, and have just now sent him on to his own home.

My family awaits, there are stories to be told and bears to play with before we fall, senseless, into sleep.

Tomorrow will be frantic, going off to donate platelets, trying to do laundry and sort and pack, and then there's a Huntington meeting to go to for their Shakespeare day...I'm Celia to a dear friend's Rosalind, in As You Like It, and there are rehearsals to figure out, traffic to battle, old enmities to ignore. Tomorrow will be frantic. And waaay tiring.

But today was a day long on joy and love. I am so blessed.
