There are two upheavals going on in my life - one, of course, the physical - not being able to work out really sucks (whereas a month ago it would barely have registered on my richter scale of importance).

The second one is in my writing life - and has two prongs. One prong is, I've learned to create a story from a different dimension - heck, it's all involved with Carolyn Greene's The Plot Doctor workshop (look it up yourself on google, I'm too tired). Her Character worksheets were a bit much - but the character background worksheets, which I worked with today, hit a chord with me somehow. Different from any other story I've developed - and this is the fifth one in the past seven days - THIS one derived from characters that became fully fledged beings, rather than one-dimensional props. Hmmmmm....interesting.

The other prong is in RWA - there is a new 'graphical standard' that I won't repeat here, and I won't repeat any gossip about said standard. But there seems to be changes in the wind. I hope RWA, and the current board of directors, manages to withstand the firestorm of opinion over this. I've done my futile best in calming the waters on the chapter presidents and vps link; but I'm not counting on it having any real impact.

It'll be interesting to see if RWA survives another 25 years.
