Exercise Done... 1 hr weights/treadmill

These first few days of summer have been strange, tension-filled days. Hubby having issues with all the stuff on his plate, me trying to whip two different books into shape, elder son handling the loss of his bike the first day of school and subsequent school challenges (in all of which he is kicking ass), younger son caught in tussle of wills between me and the mom of one of his closest friends.

Strange, strange days.

But yesterday I managed to get to Rincon. The beach was foggy, chilly, and the tide came in soon after we got there, but the air was fresh, the breeze welcome, the kids romped and played with their friends, and I lost myself in a novel in between shell-gathering.

I'm not losing weight yet, but I am reshaping my body, so that is always a plus. And I've got myself on a pretty good exercise schedule - also a plus for both mood and figure.

And report cards came - younger son came out of the semester with two As and four Bs! Relief. My darling elder son wowed us with straight As for the semester - six of them! So at least there is harmony on the educational front, as well as a ton of pride.

Now the hard work of summer begins. Scraping and painting the house. Moving the shed, including ripping up the old floor and laying a new one. Tearing down the old picket fence and putting up a new one - all this mainly on my own, with the kids' help, while hubby is at work.

And somewhere in there I need to write. It's going to be an interesting summer - and hopefully not as strange as this week has been.
