My helpful nurse neighbor with one wrist still recovering from surgery has nothing but time on his hands (so to speak), and rallied to my rescue again and took me to Costco to pick up a battery.

He ALSO helped me get the old battery out - quite the chore - by picking the right socket thingies. Sliding the new battery in took very little time...and the car started right up, no worries.

SUCH a relief!

After lunch, feeling rather spunky (and happy that the weather had cooled off), I took a sledge hammer and battered down part of the front fence, which is falling apart and a potential liability. I took three sections down...that's a lot of battering. I'll be going slow with the rest of the fencing.

And I know JUST what to do with it...we're moving our veggie garden this fall, and I've always wanted a white fence around it. This will make it all official-like! Woo!

Ahhhh...I can feel autumn approaching. I always get more energy in autumn - don't know why. Responding to the cooler weather, I guess.
