Christine's New Chapter Never look down... DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing. |

2005-09-11 9:55 AM Friday SHREW Opening night. Nerves? A bit. But did most of my makeup at home...backstage has no dressing rooms, and a tiny green room. We dress where we can, which gets interesting when you think about four women in hoop skirts.
Anyway. Outside of Baptista's skirt falling off in the second scene (she snapped her fingers at me to fix it, me being her servant and all), it seemed to go well. I got laughs without saying a word, we helped our new Hortensio out with lines when needed (he came on board on SUNDAY), and got through act one with a fair amount of ease. Act two also went well, with only Baptista falling over a set piece at the very end of the show...and all the men ran to help her, totally in character, so it all worked out. The big surprise of the evening was a contingent of our friends out there. I had no idea, so wasn't specially concerned with my performance. It was wonderful to get compliments. And then there was a cast party that no one knew about - so almost half of us went to that for awhile. It was close by in Pasadena, so no big deal. All in all, a fine, respectable opening night. No major disasters. Home, and exhaustion (not to mention a whining right knee), and bed by 1am. One down, two to go. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
