Christine's New Chapter

We played hooky yesterday and went to LACMA to see the King Tut exhibit. We also popped in to the Mayan exhibit, and the Van Ruysdale (? - landscape painter) exhibit, and the 'Japan goes to the Worlds Fairs' exhibit...all were wonderful.

But the Mayan one, especially. Similar to Egypt, and yet so very different. It resonated with me - not sure why. The art is fantastical, curly-cued and difficult for my untrained eye to pick out details, but it grabbed me all the same.

Some wonderful stuff in the Japanese museum exhibit, too - a huge, wooden, carved monkey - fabulous! A metal dragon, standing about 16 inches tall and stretching about 3 feet long - a wonder of metal and unseen rivets.

It made for a long, foot-sore day, but a good one, too. Fun spending that much time with the kids.

Today, I've sent in more job apps, and volunteered at AYSO picture day for 6 hours. Now I'm off to Best Buy with sons, then shopping for dinner, home and readying the garage for a movie-short shoot.

Life just never stops.

Christine's New Chapter Never look down... DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.
