Christine's New Chapter

The annual cleaning of the house begins today, with the looming of the New Year's party tomorrow night. But first, much shopping must commence! If I get to the house by noon I'll be pleased.

I'm hoping the night will be clear and not rainy as forecasted - I'm really wanting an outside fire tomorrow. May even do some hot spiced wine if the chill keeps up - a nice way to warm up. Eh, we'll see.

So far, lots of "sorry" type RSVPs and only a couple of "yes!" RSVPs. I keep thinking no one will come, so I invite even more people. Stupid, really, because I can't afford to throw a huge party.

But we'll stock up on champagne and beer, I'll make a cassoulet, and I've already told everyone to bring something to share so it should be okay.

And hopefully, no one will come until after 9 tomorrow night!

At last count, I think we have 4 teenage boys staying the night. I envision pancakes and bacon for breakfast on New Year's...
