Yesterday I was blindsided by a hastily called meeting between me, my manager, and the district manager of my store who happened to be there. They wanted to talk about me moving up into a lead position...which means salary, overtime pay, benefits, the whole shebang. 40+ hours a week.

Wow. Yowza.

The kids were more or less okay with it, but my eldest son told me I'd better keep writing, and not use it as an excuse to not write. Ulp! I promised him I would keep writing. There's even a chance my productivity will go up as my time will become more focused.

Hubby is about as okay with it as I am with him having a full time job. But if we can climb out of debt faster, that's all to the good. Right? This will be the first time we've had a steady two incomes. There is hope on the horizon.

So I'm going to accept it, say yes I'm still very interested. And as they said, we'll have another meeting after that and see where we are.
