The weekend was one of those gorgeous, slightly breezy, warm but not hot weekends.

On Friday, hubby took the day off and we went up to Carpinteria, ate breakfast at Esau's (a surfer hangout that has amazing buttermilk pancakes), then went up to Santa Barbara to shop and people watch.

We left there, then stopped at a beach and did some walking, dabbling in the waves, managed to pick up tar/oil on the bottoms of our feet. That makes two for two - both times we've hit SB beaches, we've been "blessed" with oil. Sigh.

On the way home, we picked up some plants at Lowe's for the veggie garden, then we stopped at the farmer's market in town, picked up some terrific cheeses and a mango salsa that I used over chicken last night. Yum!

Saturday I went to Tai Chi and really got into the rhythm of it. I'm thinking I'm really going to love that art! After that, I vegged at home before starting a lamb and eggplant shepherd's pie (YUM!) and doing some gardening.

Yesterday, after a punishing gym workout, I got a lot done in the garden, overhauling the plants by the fish pond and adding more, cleaning up Yazger's (my vegetable garden), picking a cabbage (woo!), and planting both pole and bush beans. The boys mowed, hubby put up both the swing chair and the hammock - just a gorgeous day.

Ending with a fire outside, with a glass of wine and some guitar music. Now, that was a weekend!
