I have fabulous corn growing. Tall stocks, thick ears, tassels still green but boy, am I looking forward to eating that fresh corn.

And then I went outside this morning to water. In the night, the corn has been eaten. Almost all of it. Stalks toppled, ears half-gone, my dreams of cornish bliss on a summer night, dashed by the rats in the garden.

I hate rats.
