Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Abundance of stories...

Met today with Dayle and Erica for writing at Coffee Bean. I am so close to having this story polished for National Conference - the first time, ever. Dayle reminded me of all the paranormal stories I'd written the past few years (most of which I haven't finished).

It startled me. I hadn't realized just how many there were. They're not finished because there was no framework to hold the story...they veered wildly and had way too much in them. But now that I know how to set up a framework...I can fix those stories. In fact, from the five or so that Dayle thought of, I could probably come up with ten or twelve different stories.

Food for thought! It made me feel very wealthy, indeed...which is a good thing, as coin of the realm is thin on the ground.

Of course, conference is in jeopardy. I've had doubts about going this year, because I really can't afford it. And now The Gaylord Hotel has been flooded out. They are cancelling conference goers rooms. I'm sure the hotel that I'm in, across the freeway, is probably also flooded but I haven't heard anything. So now, RWA is scrambling to find another venue to handle 2,000 rabid romance authors.

It makes me think that, just perhaps, this is REALLY not the year to go. But if a lot of people cancel...but then again, if a lot of agents and editors cancel...sigh...it's a dilemma that I am not yet close to solving.

Another job would come in handy, Universe. Preferrably one with affordable health insurance for the family, and at least 30 hours a week.

Get on that, okay, Universe? I'm ready. I think I've got the writing thing down to where I can do it with a full time job...
