Tammy made me scrambled eggs and chantrelles. OMG is that good! In 2001, we had come up here as a family in the late summer, and we went mushrooming. That's where I first learned to spy, dig, and then consume yummy chantrelles. We're having a lazy Sunday morning, not having to go off to a kids' flag football game when it's only 37 degrees F. outside.

Last night, we went to the Red Onion with extended family, and we had a fabulous time chatting and enjoying the food and drink. I was kinda drowning fears, as the kindly editor I've been corresponding with hasn't responded to me since I finally sent her a short story in the correct file format. Felt SO stupid but I tried to wiggle back into her good graces. We'll see...I'm hoping to hear something, whether positive or negative, by the end of the day today but as Tammy mentioned, editors have lives, too. She's probably spending time with her family and relaxing for awhile before the grind starts back up on Monday.

Can't fault her for that.

In the meantime, I'll wander around the neighborhood and hopefully not get lost like I did yesterday. I'll just enjoy the gorgeous scenery (it's snowing on the high mountains) and work more, mentally, on the next novel in the series. Yeah, it's a rough life, but I'm so glad I get to do it!
