We've got ground termites, hence the mayhem - they are mostly coming in through our bedroom wall. Since they need to drill holes and need the carpet peeled back three feet, it looks like we might go ahead and rip out all the carpet. Which means we'll redo not only the floors, but I'll be taking off all the wallpaper, too, then the prep and paint.

This will be madness I think. I'm still on disability; hubby's job is day to day at this point, and the series he was on briefly is on hiatus (he was background). I can handle not being entirely steady on my feet as we wobble through months of reno; I'm just not sure how we'll pay for it.

It worries me. I am doing my best to relax and focus on the positive side of life. Usually this is easy for me. Right now, not so much!

And of course the writing is also scary. The story has been stubborn but I think I'm finally breaking through. I had to almost completely ditch the short story that this novel is derived from, which will make the novel much better in the long run; but in the short run it feels like starting from scratch almost.

Ah well. Since I'm awake, I may as well get some writing done, yes? Gotta love insomnia. Though this is red-wine induced, I'm afraid...
