crochet and other things

made it into work again. Really wanted to continue sleeping. SO is getting up at night shortly after we go to bed and not coming back for couple of hours. Last night I woke up when he still wasn't in bed after 2 hours. I don't know when he came to bed.

I am getting exasperated with my cell phone. This morning my husband was picking up doughnuts to bring to me-because he didn't get to bed early enough, he overslept. No breakfast made. Anyway, he sent me a text to see if I was at the building or still on the bus, he sent it at 6:09, it didn't ring through until 6:26 (just as I was starting this entry). Time hack on the text said received 6:09. He thought I was ignoring his text. At other times, text picks right up. Don't know what happens. sometimes the calls don't ring through-he didn't believe me until my daughter called him wanting to know why I wasn't picking up. My cell phone had been in front of both of us and never rang.

Yesterday we had a Shelter in Place (SIP) exercise for the unit I am in. Ever since 9/11 the government wants to insure that the employees are accounted for. You would think that the employees were kids. Dumb questions(i know not suppose to be any but questions like "can we leave the buildin? the cell phone towers are going to be out how can we call anyone?") These are people that for the most part are well educated either with school or life experiences. Some didn't bring there sip kits -things you get together to help you survive 2-3 days. I still need to get stuff, but if need be I can survive. This was a well announced planned exercise and we were told to come prepared.

Crocheting- I am working on an afghan for my daughter-black and gray (no third color-i double checked.) Black is a pain to work with. It is going to be pretty enough when I am done. I am doing 'entrelac crochet' and when the afghan is done it will look like rows of black and gray diamonds. Remember the afghans that had solid strips with cross stich embroidered on them? Well the diamonds are made up of the same stitch only very small areas. Hopefully she will like it. She normally doesn't like crochet since it looks too country for her taste. This pattern has a more modern look to it.

time to go to work. enjoy.
