2009-07-10 6:12 AM ???? I am still thinking of a subject line-no got it now.
Yesterday morning, I was walking into the door of the building I work in with another employee when we both did double takes. On the wall out side the door, but protected by the courtyard, was the biggest dragonfly I have ever seen. This thing was the size of a small bat. Beautiful green wings. We sent the guard outside to look at it and she came in shaking her head. This critter was the size that as a child we would definately run away from it. When I left the building last night, it was still on the wall so I took a picture with my cell phone. I had told my SO about it and then I texted it to him. "WOW" was the only response. The color of the wings was a pretty light mint green shimmery color. I can not upload the picture on the computer, and I don't know how do to that anyway. When I showed the apartment manager where I live, she said that she has seen them that size here in DC before. It wasn't there this morning so I am hoping that it went and found lots of food-the biting type=mosquitos. It is Friday!! I have caught up with most of my work!! Now if I can only work at my desk most of the time it will be great. I received responses to a position that I applied for within my agency. I am eligble for 2 grades out of 3-still haven't heard about the 3rd grade. This is just confirmation that my paperwork was received. We'll see what happens. If I get that job, no more real free time during the workday. Tried to finish one of the dishclothes that I am knitting. After counting my stitches after every row, one row still came up short. I finally added a stitch and then followed the next row's pattern. I do not know if it was because my husband kept on interrupting me or if there is a pattern problem. I made a note to go back and retry the pattern later. I am now working on the next pattern, and found that I have to be careful. He tends to talk to me right in the middle of a complicated stitch cycle. Then says, oh, I'm sorry. I only had to rip it out 1 time. then I discovered a way to keep better track of where I am in the pattern using my pencil as a pointer and a post-it tab as my row marker. It works as long as I don't try to watch tv at same time. Speaking of TV, "so you think you can dance' was on last night for the judging results. The two dancers that were voted off after their solo dance will still go on tour with the group. They were good dancers, but the others were a shade better. Lots of entertainment. The ballerina had to dance a solo for the first time since her tryout, it was a modern take ballet. The dancers choreograph their own solos so you get to see other talent also. Well, almost time to start earning my money and I want to check other sites. I don't know if I will be entering anything this weekend since our home computer is still not hooked up after the rearrangement that we are still working on. Most of it should be done this weekend. Have a great one everyone. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
