2009-11-04 7:31 AM manager's back Just spoke to the manager. I gave a brief synopsis of what happened yesterday. I will be up at the front desk again today. I am appreciating the fact that he is allowing me to get my feet wet slowly. By next week I will be learning to do some of the actual "work". Oh, boy.
I was exhausted when I got home last night. SO was complaining about his arm-but he doesn't want to take doctor's advise and go to ER-that is what doctor said to do. I figure if we go on a Friday night it should not be as busy as a Monday Morning. But that is ok, it gives him reason to complain. Then as we were going to bed, he noticed that my calcium pills were spilled on the floor by my bedside. (I take them first thing in the morning). The cover had dropped yesterday and I couldn't find it in the low light. When I left, the bottle was on the dresser where it normally is, apparently it got pushed off during the day. When I tried to explain I used the wrong word and he thought I was "blaming" him. When he finally came to bed, I tried to difuse the situation and we were sort of talking. I can't remember what he said, but I told him to stop being a "curmudgeon" (spelling?) He got all defensive and stated that I was showing off? What the? I just said goodnight and turned over. Up to the point of the pill issue we were fine. I don't know what to do about things like this any more. It throws off sleep and destroys the 'comfort' level in the house. Any ideas out there? We watched 'So You Think You Can Dance' last night. I agree with the dancers who were dropped. The talent this season is so good. One of the things I do know, when I get back to my normal job, I definitely am asking for a tour of duty change to start at 8 instead of 7. Making breakfast in the morning and leaving that hour later is so much better a start. Even though I will get home an hour later, It is not a that much a hardship here in DC as it was when my kids were younger and there were activities to worry about. I can wait until SO leaves to get ready for work. I still get up at the same time, but I get breakfast while he's getting dressed etc. It works so much better than both of us trying to get going at the same time. We are not in each others way.
