I will need to find a way to get an honest critique and grow from there. Do I want to be published? Yes, do I know the market that I am aiming for? Yes- do I know how to reach them- sort of. I learned the facts of life by accident- Harlequin romances-not the way I want my GD to learn. I was reading above my grade level, this was the seventies, and well, I had some very basic idea, then well.... (but please don't tell my folks)

My GD reads at way above 4th grade level, at least I think that the 7th Harry Potter book is above 4th grade, she turned 10 in December-or am I wrong? I want to write mystery/suspense/romance that she can read safely with out the facts of life being too much in her face.

Some of the romances out there are really porn. My husband has caught my face at times, and though the story line is great, the mystery is great-even the historical romance is great- the bedroom scenes are too graphic- Sometimes is ok, but there are some books where close to a third of the book is porn, if I wanted that, I would buy a movie, you know what I mean? I want something that I can trust for a independent reader through high school and above-challenging, intelligent, romantic, but not sexually explicit. Yes IT is a part of life, and yes, I have lived a lot of life, yes I can tell you tales-that is another story-but I don't want to sell sex. But I don't neccesarily (sp?-no dictionary here) want a "Christian" publishing company either. So that is what I will need to research. That is the type of writing I am striving for. But I will need to do a lot of reading too. (Still not enough hours in a day!!)
