2010-03-01 10:06 AM How we spend time How do we spend time? This weekend lots got done in my house mainly because of the rugs and furniture delivery. Yesterday, I didn't do quite so much, but I did read a lot at Mark Terry's web site-always good to read an author. I didn't do what I had planned to do, which was print out my book as written so far and edit it. I know I have about 40 pages written. So based on what I have been reading, not even a third of the way done; that is good, since I do not have an outline written out, but sort of know how the story is going in my head. The "sort of" is the key. Since I haven't read it like a book, or have anyone else read it yet, I don't know how it is. Tonight I will be printing it. I think.
We called GD last night. She is playing trumpet, and apparently is doing well for her age and level. She's 10, and this is the first year. Her instructor has her playing at the next level up, and she's learning to read music-definately did not get that talent from my side of the family. Her mother used to sing very well until she started smoking (UGH!), her grandfather used to sing in church so there is some in the genes somewhere. Well, in school, she sits next to a young man, who plays saxaphone, and who likes her. He called her 5 times this weekend and came over. My GD is quite tall for her age. He is shorter that her. I told her, "so what-still wear your heels!" She giggled at that. I think that my dd is going to have a handful. I did tell GD that school comes first. But it was funny to hear her tell Papa that she had to tell Nana something first, cause Nana would understand better. That was a first. You see, she is the 'apple of Papa's eye' and visa versa.
