2011-05-18 10:40 AM "The Creation" I read this two page essay four times. It is short but not sweet. It has a depth of meaning that is intriguing and I wish that I was with a group studying this author's works. What a mind!
This essay brought several thoughts to mind! First I thought that he was talking about the simple creation of the Earth as the Bible tells the story. But then I reread the essay again. As I reread the essay and pondered upon it. (I always wanted to use that statement and it really fits this time!) I realized the deeper meanings within the writing. We are made up of our souls and our physical bodies. Our souls hold the purity of us. The aspects of our beings that are the most beautiful, gentle, kindly, graceful. It knows the purest love, the happiest of happy, the most sorrowful of sorrows, and deepest heartbreaks. The angels have touched it, and it stays hidden. Our bodies are the harshest parts of us. If the body wants it, the body will grab for it. Anger is its mainstay, power is its blood. It fights for power, for control and does not listen to the soul-refuses to listen to the gentler side. So we are eternally at war with ourselves. Our souls fight to control what does not want to be controlled. And our body fights to control our soul. And the Creator that gave the gifts to both Soul and Body weeps for what he has created! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
