2012-01-06 2:56 PM Just bragging The other night I received a text from DGD. B received one at the same time. She was very up beat. To me she texted about a boy 'asking her out'. At this age, it means talking together, eating lunch together and mainly being silly. I remember doing it when I was in the sixth grade. Boy may visit the house and she may visit his, only if parents are home. And lots of silly texts after school. This boy has asked her before, but she doesn't really like him and she has said no. Kindly I hope.
Well, DGD texted something different to B who is Papa. She texted about her grades. She has a 4.0 gpa, the highest in her grade, and the only one with that gpa. She is now teased about being a computer brain. She likes this better than being teased about her height. I told her that either way it was better than twerp and shorty. (sorry to those who are height challenged, but it was the best I could come up with after long day at work.) I also told her not to let it go to her head. (after many congradulations and keep on studying and working hard and don't stop doing her school work now.) I also told her not to hit over her classmates heads. Giving an example of how we made a classmate of ours life a little hard because of how she acted. (that classmate ended up being HS valectectorian) I know spelling of word is wrong. She said she knows, kids won't let her and mom won't let her get too big for her britches. We will see. But I am proud as a peacock for her. She has a great sense of humour about it all and was just on cloud nine. But as she said, she goes into class and opens her book first. Doesn't goof off too much. Kids tend to goof off and don't open book until teacher enforces it. Hmmm-sounds like she got that part from me. Ok, I will stop bragging now. Just knew she was smart. Hopefully she will keep it up. And it will convert to life smarts too. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
