Cussedness Godwar Central Station LEVEL 20 ARCH-CURMUDGEON ALL HATE MAIL WILL BE POSTEDI am an out of the closet, bi-sexual gender queer and have long believed that the personal is political. Perhaps that is simply a bit of 1960s idealism that most people have outgrown; but it remains near and dear to me. I am the best-selling dark fantasy ebook author of the Dark Brothers of the Light series. 2004-07-11 5:50 PM critting I watched my favorite, though fragile and thin-skinned, critter gets critted in my chatroom. She resisted valiantly and all, but in the end was reduced to an aching, bruised state of whimpering "no" and then going back to her original line of thinking and whimpering about the book being too long to sell.
The first time I had to sit through a crit was face to face. I had gone to a east coast college that accepted me partly because I sent in a completed novel ms along with my straight A's I had a one on one with the poet in residence. He was a sweet young teacher in his second year and fabulously good looking. I think all of the female students were in love with him, myself included. So the first day that we were to sit down and go over the manuscript, I found myself shaking in my boots. He got this impish smile that was so charming, but as he started to speak, tear began to run down my face and I could not stop them. He stared a moment and I turned my back to him, saying "Don't look at me, just talk" Then he did and it turned out he liked what I had written and his critting was very constructive. I must have benefitted because I later sold that book and a bunch of shorts. Currently Reading: Recommended Reading: Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
