Perhaps that is simply a bit of 1960s idealism that most people have outgrown; but it remains near and dear to me. I am the best-selling dark fantasy ebook author of the Dark Brothers of the Light series. I made my first short story sale at 23. it appeared in Amazons! which took the World Fantasy Award for best anthology in 1980February 2004: In The Darkness Hunting: Tales of Chimquar the Lionhawk (wildside press) Dark Brothers of the Light Series. 2004-10-07 8:13 PM Bram Stoker Awards In a true example of idiocy, I found this on piggy's journal today:
--- When I posted Reality Check on here it is because I read some of the stories when they were online as well as receiving some of them via instant messenger. I read Nicholas Mounts story but I won't give away the plot -- buy the damn book, it is well worth it. Thomas you got yourself a Brammy contender now get it in the hands of the Stoker committee. I suggested the idea to Thomas about trying to get the anthology in the hands of the stoker committee -- I have this notion he might take up on that suggestion. For that book and Bone Chills (Terry you need one of these baby's on your mantle with Bone Chills.) I gave Thomas the big horns up when I put Tabloid Purposes out there because if there wasn't a Reality Check anthology there might not of been a Tabloid Purposes. Bite of the Spider is one of my better stories but the only ones who saw this one were anthology mates Joni Latham, and Hasan Abood. The story that almost got in was House of Spiders. ***************************** Apparently he's too stupid to realize that the awards are voted upon by all those active members of HWA that he has been pissing off and pissing on. Any member can reccommend a story for the preliminary ballot, but only the Actives can vote on the final ballot. That's people like myself and my colleagues. From what I've seen of "Thomas" attitude and his talent, there is no way in hell he's going to get a rec, much less an award. In fact I know a 13 year old who already writes rings around him and who I think will eventually become a serious talent in the field as he learns his craft.
