"Providence"---mostly good.

After the Sephora escapade I drove out to visit some friends who had an art framing business. Three miles from the location at which I'd visited them before, at this time of year come to think and with a card in hand as now, I looked up and saw (name fictionalized) "Wolfgang Family". They've changed locations, perhaps; I sighted it as a bare last look while the light changed and considered myself fortunate. I pulled at the door and it was closed. Darn, did I hit the holiday break on this Friday before? I called the number on the overhead and it was not in service---and a certain provider could give me numbers of nearby similar services.

No, I'd drive to where I remembered them, a location 90% certain by thoroughfare, 50% by cross street and hardly by number. There they were and they chuckled at the story. The sign at the place I momentarily tarried, their original location, hasn't come down due to the price of doing so, even though the space is once again occupied by a tenant. Back to the art framers, they were supposed to have closed for several days at 2 but there was enough going on a half hour later they were there for some conversation and their card.

So a little providence came about.

Providence, Rhode Island, is in the mid 30's and partly cloudy at this writing. Here we have classic chamber of commerce skies and 80, with high pressure building in the northwest to enforce this unreality---and drought---of our environs for a while. Well, after getting back from group fitness and a spot of shopping my old car's driver window is frozen down, and magic thinking fingers are crossed that's the extent of freezing courtesy of "providence".

The car has been kicking me out of third and fifth gears, the two front locks are respectively broken and limited, there are a pair of leaks----there is a refurbished car being readied for my purchase and at least the weather looks to be of the not so intrusive variety until this takes place.

Providence, cold back east. Out here, a brindle shade just holding out.
