Dark Horse
The life and times of a meditative horse trainer.

I'm a second generation born and raised Alaskan. I've very proud of that, my roots are here. While I want to see as much of the world as I can, I want to raise my children here. I'm a dedicated student of the horse, of life and I love to learn. I try to leave no stone unturned in my life. Nothing is good if taken at just face value there is always more, to people, an animal, a thought, a dream. I'm an intensity junky, I live my life with passion as if every action were my very last, and I love the colors that this passion has brought to me. It's my hope to share this small window of myself with my readers. If you surfed in please make yourself at home and stay a while, if your one of my loved one's who are here, I love you for all you have educated me in to make my life this amazing.

The Peep & Bunny Hangover - April 2005

Greetings my friends, its been a while since I’ve had the foresight to take a look at the stars and share. Since I’m feeling rather crabby starting out my week with champagne fuzz in my head I thought I would do the whole duality rant thing as per my usual fashion. I’m also crabby about this damned snow! For cripes sake I had my sandals out and then this happens? Joke is over, its not funny anymore where the F is my springtime!

In case you didn’t already know next Saturday we will all be robbed of one full hour of our lives, which in my case on a Saturday this involves sleep. Yes, I'm being dramatic, but I can't help my self. I am not a big fan of losing that hour of sleep, and going to bed earlier just doesn't happen. I'll tough it out and save you my rant because in actuality, the week ahead looks quite amazing!
Of the many sweet things that this week introduces, the Promethean Cycle of Mercury is one of the more exciting. That's when the retrograde changes our focus from the past to the present! It's a subtle change but is felt most strongly in our attitudes. We cross the line of waiting and sorting into the planning and doing zone. We usually feel mentally clearer and confident. The Promethean Cycle is a fancy way of saying that the Sun and Mercury are at the same point in the sky (called a conjunction). Every time Mercury goes retrograde, within about 10 days it will make contact with the Sun as if to herald the beginning of new ideas and the solidification of old ones.

This up and coming week is really a lovers paradise to be honest, but since some of you are all stressy over Mercury still in RX I thought I would compile a little list of helpful tips… You can all stop rolling your eyes now I’m being serious here dammit!

1.Smile With Venus so prominent in the sky, a smile would indicate that you see something worth smiling about. It feels good and it may mean the difference between a good performance review and a mediocre one. As my momma always said, “If you meet someone without a smile give them one of yours” AWWW isn’t THAT SCHWEET?

2. Listen With Mercury, the planet of ideas being so close to the Sun, everyone is going to have something to say. The listener will not only be the hero but they'll gain lots of knowledge in the process. From a horse training standpoint, I’ve learned more about them by allowing them to reveal themselves to me than I have by acting. People are the same way… So shut up and listen!

3. Be Optimistic Jupiter is the big planet and can offer hope where there is little to be found. Demonstrate this fact to others not by pretending but by first realizing how true it is for you. The theory of abundance is alive in all of us in some dark corner of our minds, this is a good week to remember the lesson and meditate on abundance!

4. Drink yourself into Oblivion! OPPS! That's for another week; strike that note, I must be wanting to rid my head of the fuzz. Hee hee

5. Appreciate This is due to the Venus Jupiter combination. Appreciation is one of the most powerful tools you can have, not only because of the effect it has on others, but because of the automatic effect it has on you. Don't just think kind thoughts to yourself, say them to the person. Every encounter offers you an opportunity, no matter how brief.

6. Forgive. This is my personal favorite and something everyone on the planet needs practice with including myself. If you think you don’t wake up and get a grip! I believe that a spirit’s evolution begins with its ability to forgive. All spiritual leaders were exceptional forgivers, each wrong you believe you performed is instantly forgiven, and there is no repent necessary. Guilt is part of the dream… Holding a grudge is part of the dream, awaken yourself, free yourself and forgive. Holding onto a grudge only weighs you down and empowers the issue, person or thing that you’re holding onto. Free thyself… Forgive!

I’m going to close out my thoughts with a quote to ponder that is a favorite. No amount of reading, can provide us with a roadmap, our soul, our spirit is in this vessel of a body right now at this present moment and all you have to do is reach out, breath, believe, and love.

"Four thousand volumes of metaphysics will not teach us what the soul is" –Voltaire
