Dark Horse

When I part this planet and head up to the clouds to ride the horses of the heavens don’t you dare shed a tear.
Because in heaven you can ride all the horses that call it home without any fear.

I will ride my old horses of the past, and colts that I never got to meet
I will jump all the highest fences because the horses all have winged feet

I will get to see the great ones that grace the pages of books and watch them buck and play
I will get to hear the thunder of hooves and the glorious neighs

I will run my fingers through the manes of all my old friends
I will finally realize that this is really just a beginning and not at all and end.

In heaven the grass reaches your stirrups and the horses all roam wild and free
So you can look up and smile and know I’m exactly where I want to be.

So there’s no need to feel sad for a sec, or wish for more moments and shed tears
Cause I’ll be looking down on all of you from the horses of the heavens have no fear.
