Dark Horse The life and times of a meditative horse trainer. I'm a second generation born and raised Alaskan. I've very proud of that, my roots are here. While I want to see as much of the world as I can, I want to raise my children here. I'm a dedicated student of the horse, of life and I love to learn. I try to leave no stone unturned in my life. Nothing is good if taken at just face value there is always more, to people, an animal, a thought, a dream. I'm an intensity junky, I live my life with passion as if every action were my very last, and I love the colors that this passion has brought to me. It's my hope to share this small window of myself with my readers. If you surfed in please make yourself at home and stay a while, if your one of my loved one's who are here, I love you for all you have educated me in to make my life this amazing. |

2006-03-20 4:47 PM A Symphony of Syntrophy "Every moment of our lives we are either growing or dying–and it’s largely a choice, not fate. Throughout its life cycle, every one of the body’s trillions of cells is driven to grow and improve its ability to use more of its innate yet untapped capacity. Research biologist Albert Szent-Gyoergyi, who was twice awarded the Nobel Prize, called this syntropy, which he defined as the “innate drive in living matter to pefect itself.” It turns conventional thinking upside down.
Happy first day of spring! Here in the AK it seems as though we are getting an early April Fools prank played on us as I awoke to 4 inches of snow. Who says nature has no sense of humor? It’s also the zodiac birthday of Aries, so we can big farewell (hopefully) to Pisces who can have us mourning our loved ones and having us so immersed in the past that perhaps we had forgotten that the present is truly a gift. Now with the fire sign of Aries and the growth push of spring, perhaps we can all move forward. Mercury will soon be out of RX and then what will we do about the blame game? I chose the quote above largely based on it being spring time, even though it doesn’t feel like it yet, the returning of the light will soon have us pushing through things and making headway on out personal growth. Someone once said that growth for no reason or purpose often imitates the growth of cancer cells. As living cells–or as people–there is no staying the same. If we aim for some middle ground or status quo, it’s an illusion–beneath the surface what’s actually happening is we’re dying, not growing. And the goal of a lifetime is continued growth, not adulthood. As Rene Dubos put it, “Genius is childhood recaptured.” For this to happen, studies show that we must recapture–or prevent the loss of–such child-like traits as the ability to learn, to love, to laugh about small things, to leap, to wonder, and to explore. It’s time to rescue ourselves from our grown-up ways before it’s too late. So I suppose entering a week where previously I had nothing inspirational to say I yet again, do not. Instead I’d like to boot myself in the ass and tell myself to get busy creating a new set of dreams for myself perhaps then I can be a bit more of an inspiration! Actually I find bootig myself in the ass motivational... If you would like to try this brand of motivation let me know! Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
