This week is the first space of Scorpio in the Zodiac. My favorite season, not only for Halloween purposes such as bowls of bite sized candies and all the witchy decorations, but for fall, crisp mornings, fuzzy sweaters, fog, and well okay yes it’s really all the candy that does it for me.

Marianne Williamson once said that what we fear most is how much light we can hold, not how dark we are. How can this be? I always find myself shrinking from my own light, it’s a bad habit that I’m not sure where it started from. Perhaps at too many times in my life I’ve been embarrassed by how I might of made someone feel when I was complimented in front of them, or perhaps being sensitive to others feelings I didn’t want to bask in my own glory for fear of seeming too arrogant. Or perhaps it’s just my own inner judge that is perhaps the harshest of all. Part of becoming an enlightened individual and being the best you are is being able to bask in your own light and have enough to send off to others. If you cannot love yourself you cannot truly love another, if you cannot embrace, forgive and be brave enough to shine, you will continually be led to frustration in the doings of your life.

So what does this have to do with a word in a dictionary – spirituality? I suppose, do not let the definition define your quest, in anything that you do, love, money, beauty or your spiritual journey. Black and white from a book rarely paints a full spectrum piece of art and we rewrite definitions to suit ourselves all the time.

This is a powerful week because 5, count them, 5 planets will be in the sign of Scorpio and all at the same time (6 if you count the Moon on Monday). It's also the week that Mercury moves backwards a phenomenon I have come to LOVE and hope that most of you have come to love as well. So, it's not going to be a quiet week as most of you can tell, but rather one that is hot tempered and filled with passion. For dreamers it could be a dark busy week full of messages, of which I’m feeling the burden of right now.

Perhaps if we use all this fantastic energy to our best we could use this week to chose where we have changed patterns in our life, and where we haven’t. As always with fall, it’s the harvesting season, separate the wheat from the chaff. Or in the respect of yourself, realize that what you say does not define you, or increase your light; it’s what you think and do that increases your light.
